Born in Kentucky and raised on a small farm in North Carolina,


Orondava Mumford is a designer and creative director whose career bridges art, Industrial design, and fashion. After early recognition in the visual arts, he studied at Pratt Institute while launching a successful career in costume design, becoming the youngest off-Broadway designer with credits for Alvin Ailey II and The Julliard School.

He later shifted into fashion, interning at Nicole Miller before launching his own womens wear line, which earned an Ecco Domani Fashion nomination and Barneys New York’s attention.

Orondava has since led design & creative direction for iconic American brands including Alpha Industries, Converse, Levi’s, and Alternative Apparel—modernizing heritage products, spearheading collaborations, and driving innovative brand storytelling. Recognized by WWD, GQ, The New York Times, Cool Hunting, and more,

Orondava continues to shape contemporary fashion through his ability to evolve legacy brands while pushing forward sustainable, culture-defining design.
